Arizona Wins 6th Straight, Edges Los Angeles 4-3

So far, the Arizona Diamondbacks have dominated the NL West, winning close games during their current winning streak; Eric Byrnes hit a go-ahead, 7th inning single off Dodgers starting pitcher Hiroki Kuroda, pushing the Diamondbacks past the Dodgers, 4-3 at Chase Field; the win is the 6th straight victory for Arizona. Arizona was led by Augie Ojeda, going 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored while Eric Byrnes went 3-for-5 with a run scored and 2 RBIs; Justin Upton went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Micah Owings (2-0) got the win, pitching 7 innings, allowing 7 hits, 3 earned runs, walking 1 while striking out 4; Brandon Lyon earned his 2nd save.

Los Angeles was led by Juan Pierre, going 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI while Andre Ethier went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI; James Loney went 1-for-3 with a home run, a run scored and an RBI while Rafael Furcal went 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Kuroda took the loss (1-1), pitching 5 2/3 innings, allowing 9 hits, 2 earned runs, walking 2 while striking out 4.
