Cubs Maul Mets 7-1 at Wrigley

Carlos Zambrano pitched seven innings of five-hit, one-run ball for his third win as the Cubs mauled the Mets 7-1 at Wrigley Field. Aramis Ramirez hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning, Ronny Cedeno had a two-out, two-run single in the eighth, and Felix Pie sealed the game with a three-run dinger one batter later. Chicago has won four staight and 12 of its last 15 games. John Maine fanned six and gave up just two runs over six innings, but took the loss to fall to 1-and-2. Jose Reyes' double-play ball plated New York's only run in the sixth. Reyes committed a costly error in the eighth, leading to four unearned runs as the Cubs blew the game open. New York has lost two straight after winning its previous five.
