Guillen Suspension Commuted

Certainly you could hear a sigh of relief from the Kansas City Royals; according to Dick Kaegel of MLB.com, outfielder Jose Guillen will not have to serve any of the 15-day suspension that had previously been handed down. It was announced that Guillen's suspension for violations of Major League Baseball's drug-prevention policy has been commuted. All of this thanks to recommendations by former Senator George Mitchell that players in the report not be punished, not to mention that MLB and the Players Association. At the time of the lifting of the suspension, Guillen was off to a very sluggish start, batting just .162 with 2 doubles and 5 RBIs.
