Kent Lifts Dodgers Over Marlins 7-6

Jeff Kent singled in the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth inning and the Dodgers held on to edge the Marlins 7-6 in the opener of a three-game set at Dolphin Stadium. Kent had two hits and three RBI, and Andre Ethier went 2-for-3 and scored three times, as Los Angeles won its fourth straight. Joe Beimel hurled a scoreless eighth inning to move to 2-and-0 with the win. Jorge Cantu was 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored for Florida, which has dropped two-of-three. Kevin Gregg allowed the deciding run to fall to 3-and-1 with the loss.
