Lincecum Pitches Giants Past Cardinals 3-0

After Saturday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals, I think it is safe to say that San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Tim Lincecum has the Cards' number; during his last outing against St. Louis last Sunday, he pitched 6 innings while striking out 11 in a Giants win. Lincecum mastered the Cardinals again, pitching 7 shutout innings, leading San Francisco to the 3-0 shutout of St. Louis. San Francisco was led by Aaron Rowand who went 3-for-4 with a home run, a run scored and 2 RBIs while Jose Castillo added 2 hits, including a double and an RBI. The winning pitcher was the aforementioned Lincecum (3-0); he pitched 7 innings while allowing 6 hits, walking 3 while striking out 5. Closer Brian Wilson picked up his 5th save while pitching a scoreless ninth inning. St. Louis was led by Skip Schumaker and Adam Kennedy with 2 hits each; losing pitcher Joel Piniero (0-2) had an OK outing as he pitched 6 1/3 innings, allowing 8 hits, 3 earned runs while walking 1. San Francisco (7-11) plays again on Sunday as they face St. Louis (12-6); Jonathan Sanchez (0-1) gets the nod for San Francisco while St. Louis counters with Braden Looper (3-0).
