Tigers Get First Win, Maul Red Sox 7-2

It was a matter of time before the Detroit Tigers would get their first win; Wednesday's game against the Boston Red Sox would prove to be Detroit's watershed moment, as their offense exploded, especially in a 4-run fourth inning, as they notched their first win, 7-2, over the Red Sox at Fenway Park. Detroit was led by Edgar Renteria, going 3-for-4 with 2 doubles, 2 runs scored and 2 RBIs while Carlos Guillen went 1-for-3 with a home run, 3 runs scored and an RBI; Marcus Thames went 1-for-3 with a HR, a run scored and an RBI while Ivan Rodriguez' lone hit was his 2,500th hit of his career. Jeremy Bonderman (1-1) got the win, pitching 5 innings, allowing 5 hits, an earned run, while walking 4 and striking out 2.
