Josh Beckett scattered six hits and struck out eight over seven innings of one-run ball to lead the Red Sox to a 5-1 victory over the Tigers in the finale of a four-game set at Comerica Park. Beckett improved to 4-and-2 with the victory as Boston took three-of-four in the series and has won six of its last seven overall. Kevin Youkilis had a two-run homer and Jason Varitek added a two-run single for the BoSox.
