BoSox Nip Royals 2-1 at Fenway

Julio Lugo and Coco Crisp both plated a run in the second inning and the Red Sox held on for a 2-1 victory over the Royals at Fenway Park. Justin Masterson improved to 1-and-0 after allowing just one run on three hits over five-and-a-third innings. Jonathan Papelbon struck out three of the final four hitters to notch his 13th save. The Red Sox have won five in-a-row to climb to 29-and-19 on the season. Alex Gordon went 3-for-3 with a walk for the Royals, who have lost three of their last four games. Gil Meche allowed two runs while striking out eight over seven frames to take the tough-luck loss and fall to 3-and-6.
