Braun Powers Brewers Past Cardinals

Ryan Braun clubbed a pair of solo home runs to lead the Brewers in a 5-3 win over the Cardinals at Miller Park. Corey Hart and J.J. Hardy each had an RBI double, and Prince Fielder knocked in a run with a sac fly for Milwaukee, which has won two of the first three games in the four-game set. Jeff Suppan allowed only a run on six hits and five walks over seven strong innings to improve to 2-and-2 with the win. Brian Shouse recorded the final out of the game to notch his first save. Ryan Ludwick homered and Yadier Molina and Chris Duncan each plated a run for St. Louis, which lost for the fourth time in five games. Braden Looper permitted four runs on seven hits over six frames to fall to 5-and-2.
