Colon Wins Red Sox Debut

Bartolo Colon threw five solid innings in his Boston debut as the Red Sox doubled up the Kansas City Royals 6-3 at Fenway Park. Colon allowed two runs on six hits with four walks and two strikeouts over five innings to pick up the win. Jason Varitek hit a solo home run, and Jacoby Ellsbury had three hits, including a homer, and scored three times, as the BoSox improved to 30-and-19 with their sixth straight victory. Joey Gathright had two hits and scored all three runs for the Royals, who have dropped the first three of the four-game set. Brett Tomko gave up five runs over four-and-a-third innings to fall to 2-and-5 with the loss.
