Daryle Ward ripped a pinch-hit, two-run double in the bottom of the eighth inning to give the Cubs a 6-4 win over the Diamondbacks at Wrigley Field. Reed Johnson tied the game at four with a two-run homer in the seventh for Chicago, which swept the three-game series and has won four-of-five overall. Derrek Lee clubbed his 10th home run of the season in the victory. Carlos Marmol tossed a perfect inning of relief to pick up his first win, and Kerry Wood closed things out to notch his seventh save. Conor Jackson tripled in a run and plated another with a bases-loaded walk in the fifth for Arizona, which came up short for the sixth time in eight games. Tony Pena allowed two runs in relief to suffer his first loss of the year. The start of the game was delayed for an hour due to rain. Carlos Zambrano and Randy Johnson were scheduled to start on the mound for Chicago and Arizona, respectively, but were both scratched due to the rainy conditions.
