Dellucci's Pinch-Hit Homer Lifts Indians to 5-3 Win

David Dellucci clubbed a pinch-hit, three-run homer in the top of the eighth inning to lift the Indians to a 5-3 victory over the Yankees in the opener of a three-game set at Yankee Stadium. Jhonny Peralta added a two-run shot for Cleveland, which had lost two in-a-row. Rafael Perez hurled two innings of scoreless relief to earn the win. Rafael Betancourt pitched a perfect ninth for his third save. Hideki Matsui had three hits and Jason Giambi drove in a pair of runs for New York, which fell back to .500 at 17-and-17 with the setback. Joba Chamberlain surrendered Dellucci's homer to fall to 1-and-2 with the loss.
