"Dice-K" Stays Perfect, BoSox Hold Off Royals

J.D. Drew and Mike Lowell both smacked grand slams as the Red Sox held off the Royals 11-8, sweeping the four-game series at Fenway Park. Drew and Lowell became the first Red Sox teammates since 1984 to hit slams in the same game at Fenway. Lowell finished with three hits and three runs scored for the Red Sox, who have won seven straight overall. Daisuke Matsuzaka struck out seven over five-and-two-thirds innings, yielding three runs on six hits to up his mark to 8-and-0. Jonathan Papelbon tossed a scoreless ninth for his 14th save. Miguel Olivo went 3-for-5 with a three-run homer and five RBI for Kansas City, which has lost five-of-six. Jose Guillen hit a solo homer, drove in three and scored three runs in defeat. Brian Bannister was lit up for seven runs and 12 hits in five-and-a-third frames to drop to 4-and-6.
