Marlins Sink Diamondbacks 3-2

Dan Uggla's solo homer in the sixth inning proved to be the difference as the Marlins held off the Diamondbacks 3-2 in the opener of a three-game set at Dolphin Stadium. Uggla also doubled and scored twice for Florida, which has won three-of-four. Mark Hendrickson struck out seven over five innings of one-run ball to improve to 6-and-2. Kevin Gregg pitched out of a bases-loaded jam in the eighth before throwing a scoreless ninth to earn his 12th save. Chris Snyder homered for Arizona, which lost for just the second time in seven games. Micah Owings fanned 10, but gave up three runs in seven frames to take the loss.
