Mets Win See-Saw Battle With Marlins

A two-run double by Fernando Tatis in the bottom of the 12th inning rallied the Mets to a 7-6 win over the Marlins at Shea Stadium. Endy Chavez hit a pinch-hit, solo shot in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game at five for New York. Luis Castillo and Jose Reyes also homered for the Mets, who won the final two games of the three-game series. Duaner Sanchez gave up a go-ahead solo homer to Alfredo Amezega in the top of the 12th, but got credit for the victory. Justin Miller blew the save in the bottom half and took the loss for Florida. Cody Ross homered twice and Mike Rabelo also went deep for the Fish in defeat.
