M's Prevail Over Red Sox In Ninth

Jose Lopez singled in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Mariners a 4-3 victory over the Red Sox at Safeco Field. Raul Ibanez drove in two runs, and Ichiro Suzuki had two hits and scored twice for Seattle. J.J. Putz got the win in relief for the M's, who snapped a seven-game losing streak. Mike Timlin suffered the loss for Boston, which has dropped four of its last five. Manny Ramirez slugged a three-run homer in the sixth inning to tie the game for the Red Sox. It was Ramirez's 499th career homer.
