Rays Break Through In 13th To Jolt Jays

Carl Crawford's sac-fly plated the go-ahead run in the top of the 13th inning and Dioner Navarro added a grand slam as the Rays outlasted the Blue Jays 8-3 at Rogers Centre. Gabe Gross hit a two-run homer in the fifth and Carlos Pena pelted his eighth of the year in the seventh to stake the Rays to a 3-0 lead. Toronto answered with three in the ninth to tie the game on a two-run homer by Vernon Wells and Aaron Hill's RBI single. Troy Percival blew his first save for the Rays, with J.P. Howell pitching three innings of scoreless relief for the win. Shawn Camp gave up all five runs in the 13th to take the loss for the Jays.
