Redding, Nats Shut Out Phillies

Tim Redding and three relievers combined to toss a seven-hit shutout as the Nationals blanked the Phillies 4-0 in the opener of a three-game series at Nationals Park. Redding struck out two in six-and-a-third innings of duty to improve to 6-and-3 on the season. Lastings Milledge plated a pair of runs and Dmitri Young drove in a run for Washington, which has won back-to-back games. Cristian Guzman scored three times in the victory. Brett Myers gave up three runs on eight hits in six frames to suffer the loss for Philadelphia. Chase Utley, Shane Victorino and Geoff Jenkins had two hits each for the Phils, who have lost three in-a-row.
