Surging Marlins Nip Nats 5-4

Dan Uggla's second solo shot of the day capped off a three-run eighth inning that lifted the Marlins over the Nationals, 5-4, in the finale of a three-game set at Nationals Park. Jeremy Hermida clubbed a two-run blast in the eighth for Florida, which swept the series and has won a season-high seven straight overall. Uggla scored three times and Wes Helms knocked in a run in the victory. Logan Kensing tossed a scoreless inning of relief to pick up his second win, and Kevin Gregg closed things out for his seventh save. Aaron Boone went 3-for-4 with a homer, a triple, a run scored and two RBI for Washington, which has lost five-of-six. Ronnie Belliard hit a two-run homer for the Nats in defeat. Luis Ayala was charged for all three runs in the eighth to fall to 1-and-3 with the loss.
