Webb Moves To 9-and-0 As Snakes Sweep Rox

Brandon Webb took a shutout into the seventh inning and became the majors' first nine-game winner as the Diamondbacks hung on to beat the Rockies 8-5 at Chase Field. Webb struck out eight while allowing six hits and three runs in seven and a third innings to move to 9-and-0 on the season. Brandon Medders gave up two more in the ninth, but Brandon Lyon came on to get the final three outs and record his 12th save. Stephen Drew went 4-for-5 with an RBI and Chris Snyder slugged a three-run homer for Arizona, which leads the NL West by four and a half games. Aaron Cook was touched for 10 hits, four walks and five runs in five innings to fall to 6-and-2 with the loss. Clint Barmes and Scott Podsednik each had two hits and an RBI for Colorado, which had dropped five in-a-row to fall 11 games out in the division.
