White Sox Stretch Streak To Eight With Sweep Of Tribe

Carlos Quentin and Jermaine Dye singled in runs in the eighth inning to propel the streaking White Sox to a 3-1 win over the Indians at U.S. Cellular Field. Quentin also had an RBI groundout in the first for Chicago, which completed a three-game sweep with its eighth straight win overall. Mark Buehrle allowed just two hits and one run over seven innings, but Scott Linebrink picked up the win with a scoreless eighth. Bobby Jenks worked a 1-2-3 ninth for his 12th save. Aaron Laffey gave up six hits and two runs in seven-plus frames to take the tough-luck loss. Grady Sizemore doubled in the only run for Cleveland in the third.
