Cubs Beat Up Braves 10-5 at Wrigley

Geovany Soto crushed a three-run homer as part of a four-run eight inning as the Cubs doubled up the Braves 10-5 in the opener of a three-game set at Wrigley Field. Derrek Lee homered and drove in two, while Reed Johnson added a pair of RBI for Chicago, which has won nine straight at home to move to 27-and-8 at Wrigley this season. Ted Lilly struck out eight over six-and-two-thirds innings to improve to 6-and-5 on the year. Greg Norton smacked a three-run homer for Atlanta, which has dropped four in-a-row and five-of-six overall. Tom Glavine started on the mound for the Braves, but left after the third inning due to an elbow injury. He allowed four runs on six hits during his outing to fall to 2-and-3 with the loss.
