Greinke Solid As Royals Sweep I-70 Series

Zack Greinke allowed just a run on two hits and struck out seven to lead the Royals to a 4-1 Interleague win over the Cardinals at Busch Stadium. Greinke improved to 6-and-4, and Joakim Soria notched his 18th save as Kansas City swept the first installment of this season's I-70 series. Mark Teahen was a double short of the cycle and drove in three as KC won its fifth straight game. Rick Ankiel hit a solo homer in the loss and Aaron Miles had the Redbirds' only other hit. Brad Thompson allowed two runs on five hits over five innings as he fell to 1-and-2. Thompson, who was activated off the 15-day disabled list to make the start, was sent to Triple-A Memphis after the game. The Cards lost their third straight. It was also the fifth loss in the last seven games for St. Louis.
