Phillies Blank A's Behind Kendrick

Kyle Kendrick and J.C. Romero combined on a four-hitter as the Phillies snapped a six-game losing streak with a 4-0 win over the A's at McAfee Coliseum. Kendrick gave up four hits and a walk with four strikeouts in eight innings to up his mark to 7-and-3. Chase Utley went 4-for-5 and Chris Coste had two hits and two RBI for Philadelphia. Greg Smith gave up all four runs in five-and-two-thirds innings to take the loss for Oakland, which had won three-of-four. Jack Hannahan's double was the Athletics' only extra-base hit.
