Rays' Garza Flirts With No-No

Matt Garza allowed just one hit and struck out 10 as he went the distance in the Rays 6-1 win over the Marlins at Dolphin Stadium. Garza allowed just one walk and a solo home run to Hanley Ramirez as he improved to 6-and-4. Evan Longoria and Ben Zobrist each hit solo homers as Tampa swept the Interleague set against their Florida rivals. Overall, it was the Rays seventh win in their last nine games. Ramirez hit the first pitch in the bottom of the seventh inning out to break up the no-hitter. Mark Hendrickson was the loser, allowing five runs on five hits and five walks over four and-two-thirds frames. It was the fourth loss in-a-row for the Fish and their fifth loss in their last six games.
