Giants Send Durham To Brewers

The Giants have traded second baseman Ray Durham to the Brewers. In exchange for Durham the Giants will receive Single-A outfield prospect Darren Ford and Triple-A left-hander Steve Hammond. Durham, who is in the final season of a two-year, 14.5-million-dollar contract, hit .293 with three homers, 32 RBI and 43 runs scored for the Giants this season. The 36-year-old Durham is in the midst of his 14th major league season. Ford was selected by the Brewers in the 18th round of the 2004 First-Year Player Draft. Hammond was a sixth-round selection by Milwaukee in 2005.
