Griffey's Walk-Off Shot Sinks Bucs

Ken Griffey, Jr. clubbed a two-run, walk-off homer in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Reds a 4-3 win over the Pirates in the opener of a three-game series at Great American Ball Park. Jerry Hairston smacked a solo shot and Jay Bruce plated a run for Cincinnati, which has won three in-a-row. Francisco Cordero pitched the top of the ninth to pick up the win. Adam LaRoche went 3-for-3 with a homer and three RBI for Pittsburgh, which fell for the fourth time in five games. Paul Maholm tossed seven innings of two-run ball, but Matt Capps spoiled the outing by blowing the save.
