Tigers Clip O's 4-3



Brandon Inge hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning to erase a 4-3 deficit and put the Tigers ahead for good in a 6-5 win over the Orioles in the first of four at Camden Yards. Marcus Thames added his 18th home run of the season an inning later for insurance as Detroit moved a game over .500 at 48-and-47. Gary Sheffield also hit a two-run homer in the win. Kenny Rogers scattered 11 hits and four runs in six innings to improve to 7-and-6. Todd Jones gave up an unearned run in the ninth, but held on for his 18th save. Garrett Olson gave up five runs in six innings to fall to 6-and-5 with the loss. Melvin Mora went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer to highlight the attack for Baltimore, which has lost eight of its last nine.
