Lester Gets Monday Start For Bo-Sox

Boston Red Sox starter Jon Lester will make his Major League debut for the 2007 season on Monday night as he will get start at Jacobs Field in Cleveland facing the Indians. Lester will be making his first MLB start since being diagnosed with lymphoma in August of last year cutting short his rookie season. The strain of cancer he has is said to be highly treatable, and although he started the year on the disabled list he was activated back on June 11 and was assigned to the minors. Lester will take the start for former Indian pitcher Julian Tavarez. Lester said on Sunday that it hadn't really sunk in the fact that he was making his first Major League start Monday, but assumes it will be an emotional moment when it occurs. Lester went 7-2 last year for the Red Sox before being diagnosed with cancer.
