Glavine Beats Pirates 6-3 For Career Win #299
New York Mets starter Tom Glavine saw his record for the 2007 season record grow to 9-6 after defeating the Pittsburgh Pirates Wednesday night 6-3. But in the historical sense the win was career victory number 299 leaving him one win short of becoming just the 23rd pitcher in MLB history to reach the 300 win plateau. Glavine worked six frames giving up all three runs in the fifth, two via two run homer by Jason Bay his third homer in two days. The offensive man of the night for New York was Paul LoDuca who had four RBI. Tom Gorzelanny took the loss for the Bucs their tenth loss in eleven games.
