Johnson To Undergo Season Ending Back Surgery


Stating that he intends to be pitching during Spring Training in 2008 Arizona Diamondbacks starter Randy Johnson held a press conference on Friday to announce he is having season ending back surgery. The 43 year old hurler will undergo back surgery for the second year in a row and the for the the third time in his career. Saying that he loves to pitch and has since he was seven years old, the "Big Unit" vowed to come back successfully from the surgery to pitch next year. Johnson currently has 288 career victories and wants to attain 300 before he hangs up his spikes for good.
