Cinderella Rockies Not Close To Midnight Beat D-Backs 5-1
The Colorado Rockies are not supposed to be in the N.L.C.S. but someone must have forgot to inform them of that fact. Not only are the "Cinderella" Rockies in the final series before getting to "The Show" they are ahead in the series after defeating the Arizona Diamondbacks Thursday 5-1. Colorado got a masterful performance out of starter Jeff Francis going 6 2/3 innings allowing just 1 run on 7 hits 1 walk and striking out 4. Diamondbacks Ace Brandon Webb had a much rougher allowing 4 runs in his 6 frames to get the loss. Rockies right fielder Brad Hawpe got the game's key hit a bases loaded single in the third driving home two. Colorado added one more run that inning plus single runs in the second and the seventh. This was the Rockies 18th win in 19 games an incredible pace, and a remarkable statistic.
