The New York Yankees introduced their new bench boss Joe Girardi to the fans and the media on Tuesday. Girardi who was a broadcaster this past season with the Yankees was one of three candidates who were interviewed to take over as manager from the departed Joe Torre. Girardi was a catcher and a bench coach for New York, he then became manager of the Florida Marlins. Girardi who was named National League Manager of the Year was fired after one year because of disagreements with Florida owner Jeffrey Loria. Girardi said during his press conference that there was only one Joe Torre and he will manage as he sees fit. He said the only way he can be successful is by being who he is.
