Jeter Hits One Over Green Monster Yanks Beat Bo-Sox 4-3
The New York Yankees took the weekend series, the season series, and are now just 4.5 games behind Boston as they defeated the Red Sox Sunday night 4-3. The game was tied at 1-1 in the top of the eighth when Boston starter Curt Schilling gave up a three run homer to New York shortstop Derek Jeter giving the Yankees a 4-1 lead and gave Schilling the loss. Boston scored solo runs in the bottom of the eighth and ninth but fell short. Yankees Cult Hero Joba Chamberlain got the win in relief of the Rocket Roger Clemens who made his return to the starting rotation. Clemens had a good start going six allowing just one run on two hits, but could not hold on for the decision.
