Yankees Officially In Playoffs Paste Tampa Bay 12-4

For the 13th consecutive season the New York Yankees clinched a playoff spot Wednesday night, as they beat up on the Tampa Bay Devil Rays 12-4. With New York in the Post Season, all four playoff spots in the A.L. are now locked up. The only question that remains is if the Boston Red Sox will remain on top of the East, and New York comes in as the Wild Card or if the tables will turn ending up with New York on top. Boston now holds a 3 game lead over the Yankees in the East. Yankees Ace Chien Ming-Wang saw his record grow to 19-7 as he threw six innings giving up two runs on seven hits, and striking out six. J.P. Howell took the loss for the D-Rays' record is now 1-6. New York was powered by shortstop Derek Jeter with his 12th homer of the season, and Robinson Cano who hit home run number 19 and had 5 RBI. Yankees General Manager Brian Cashman, said that the team was like Lazarus coming back from the dead. And the usually stoic New York Skipper Joe Torre actually shed tears.
