MLB Suspends Umpire Winters In Bradley Brawl

Well it turns out that San Diego Padres outfielder Milton Bradley has been vindicated by MLB. The Commissioners office announced on Wednesday they have suspended umpire Mike Winters for the rest of the season for allegedly using a profanity against Bradley during Sunday's contest between San Diego and the Colorado Rockies. The result was Bradley going nuclear and having to be wrestled to the ground by San Diego manager Bud Black causing Bradley to tear his ACL. The Padres organization say that Winters was trying to bait Bradley, and MLB apparently agrees hence the suspension. Now, two things, first of all "suspended for the season" in this case is not too dramatic, the season ends this Sunday, we are not talking 100 games here! Secondly, I want to publicly apologize to Milton Bradley for assuming the worst and that the responsibility lay with him. It turns out Milton, that this time you were provoked, but the bottom line still is who lost worse? By allowing this "bully" to get a rise out of you, you fell right in to his trap, you knocked yourself out of the postseason, and who knows what long term ramifications your injury will have on your career? Milton, again as I said in my first article on this incident, you can not allow the moment to master you, you have to master the moment.
