Big Hurt Joins 500 Club

During most of the 1990's he was one of the most dominating hitters, not only in the American League but all of MLB. On Thursday he reached a mark that at one time he thought injury had taken out of his grasp. Toronto Blue Jays Designated Hitter Frank Thomas hit career home run number 500,as his team lost to the Minnesota Twins 8-5. Thomas who has suffered from ankle problems for years, saw his productivity decrease dramatically due to the injury. Thomas hit the long ball off Twins starter Carlos Silva, becoming the 21st player in MLB history to reach the milestone. Thomas played 12 seasons for the Chicago White Sox before playing one season for Oakland last year. Thomas who says he feels the healthiest he has in years, has now set his sights on number 600.
