The Tampa Bay Devil Rays placed Elijah Dukes on the temporary inactive list Friday, hoping the time off will give the talented but controversial some time to get his act together. The rookie center fielder who is 22 has been known to exhibit a volatile temper throughout his minor league career. This season Dukes found the glare of the television cameras after his estranged wife let it be known that she had put out a restraining order on him after he allegedly threatened her. A statement by Tampa Bay Vice President Andrew Friedman said that the move was to allow the player to get his personal life in order.
