Biggio Gets Hit Number 3000

Houston Astros second baseman needed 3 hits Thursday night against the Colorado Rockies to become MLB's 27th player to get 3,000 hits in their career. Biggio who needed 70 hits entering the season to make the mark actually was thrown at second base during the historic hit, trying to stretch a single into a double. The still active member of the "Killer Bees" who is 41 years old got hit number 3000 19 years to the day of getting his first hit off former LA Dodgers starter Orel Hershiser. Biggio ended up with five hits in the game as the Astro's won 8-5.

It's cool he has achieved so many hits, but I can't cheer for someone who cheats the game by trying to get hit by pitches just as much.
